Driven graphic designer with a passion for words, history, and travel.
In my Career Interview paper, I interviewed Cynthia (Cindy) Abbott, the Director of Mason Dixon Community Services (MDCS). I have worked with Cindy for five (5) years and it was an honor to interview her and ask her questions on the importance of communication in her role as Director. Cindy provided good insight into how communication plays a role in her every day responsibilities.
The three (3) documents below are from different courses during my tenure at HACC. These files have been included to showcase my skills in writing and offer a variety of writing styles. The first is a fictional short story based on a quote (creative writing). The second is a paper written on the Quinta da Regaleira located in Sintra, Portugal (critical review). The third document is a persuasive essay with personal experience.
The documents below have been included as they have significant meaning to me. Serving my local community as a member of the board of Mason Dixon Community Services, I have seen firsthand the struggles that many people face on a day-to-day basis. As such, I have included the outline and PowerPoint for a speech I gave on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). While this was a speech to inform, I am very passionate about helping those in need and wanted to give a speech on SNAP because many people in the United States would go hungry without it.
The document below has been selected to be included in my portfolio because I love Disney and this paper showcases my analysis skills. In my current role, working in advertisement for a local newspaper, I design advertisements and provide advice to those seeking to market their business, organization, or event. Being able to analyze and identify Aristotle's Appeals of rhetoric in the ad campaign will benefit me in my role as a graphic designer.
